Sept 22  Charleston Challenge Duathlon takes place at Carl Sandburg School, 1924 Reynolds Dr.in Charleston. Start time is 9:00 am.  This event hosted by the Charleston Parks and Recreation Department features a 2 mile run, 19.2 mile bike ride, 2 mile run over a vigorous course. creating music of our lives:
"Guit(art) ; Guitars form Mark Rubel's Collection" on display now through September 30th in the EGallery at Tarble Arts Center EIU. This exhibition presents the guitar as the subject of functional design. Mark Rubel is he Director of EIU Recording Studio, a musician, recording engineer, legal expert witness and member of the EIU Music faculty. The tarble Arts Center is located at  2010 Ninth Street in Charleston and is a division of the College of Arts and Humanities of EIU.


 


take a walk at Douglas Hart Nature Center:

Take a walk at Douglas-Hart Nature Center this Thursday September 20th from 8 -10am to enjoy the migratory birds! This program is offered every Thursday through October. Come one time, come every time, stay 2 hours, stay half hour - Birders of all skill levels are encouraged. Free!  Morning beverage and refreshments served after the walk. The 2012 Art Faculty  Exhibition is September 21st - December 2nd, in the Main Galleries of the Tarble Arts Center. The Faculty Exhibition Opening reception Thursday September 20th 4:30-6:30.This exhibition presents recent works by practicing artists who are members of the EIU Art Faculty and Emeritus Faculty. Typically the exhibition features paintings, sculpture, ceramics, metals, fibers graphic design, digital animation, printmaking and mixed media in variety of styles and approaches. Tarble Arts is located at 2010 9th Street in Charleston and is a division of the College of Arts and Humanities of EIU.
